Individuals will spend 4 hours learning independent living skills, improving their job/employment skills, practicing improvisational speaking and exercising. All classes will be taught by trained and certified special education teachers, assisted by adults and volunteers with extensive experience in the special education field. Bring your own lunch! |
Are you the perfect candidate?
Enrichment Classes are designed for adults with medium to high support needs. Adults may be verbal or non-verbal special needs looking to enter the workforce. Our program will focus on improving vocational skills, with an emphasis on agriculture and healthy, independent living. Attendees should be able to conduct themselves safely in a 1:4 setting, follow 2-3 step directions (if needed w/caregiver prompt), exhibit minimal behaviors, be able to navigate outdoor terrain and handle all personal needs. Creative Communication: Art-Stream Improvisational speaking and job interview skills, role playing and art.
Vocational & Life Skills Indoor: Life skills: cooking, food prep, washing dishes, setting table, folding clothes, dusting, mopping and keeping house. Job prep: Wood working, shredding, sorting, filing and organizing documents. Vocational & Life Skills Outdoor: Life Skills: wood working, nature walk, clearing brush, sweeping. Job prep: planting, weeding, tool safety, farming, mowing, shoveling, composting, Exercise Class: Movement in nature or SPIRIT Club |
