Aug. 2022 UCR Director speaks to International Crisis Intervention Training Conference Nearly 2000 CIT professionals, mental health workers, law enforcement workers, first responders and school resource officers from around the globe attended the International CIT Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, August 28-31. Jenn Lynn traveled with a group of professionals from Montgomery County to present on a variety of topics ranging from mobile crisis response, officer self care, body language for de-escalation to cutting edge mental health crisis response through critical community collaborations. Jenn and MCPD Officer Laurie Reyes instructed a class on strategies to have successful interactions with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, living with I/DD, Alzheimer's Dementia and other co-occurring invisible disabilities. The class was well-received and emotional for all in attendance. Jenn speaks not only from her personal lived experience, but her extensive behavior management background and rich history with Laurie Reyes. Montgomery County is very much on the cutting edge of mental health crisis response nationwide and UCR is proud to be connected to this important and life saving work. |
