From the Board of Directors:
On March 8, 2023, our wonderful Executive Director, Jenn Lynn, through her solely owned entity, Empowering Autism Caregivers, LLC, was honored at the 49th Annual Public Safety Awards ceremony as the Public Safety Champion of the year. Jenn, as we all know, is dynamic, compassionate, driven, intelligent and UCR has benefitted from her attitudes and efforts for years; but she is not a self-promoter and the Board is compelled to share this honor and recognition of the talents of our Executive Director with all of our community. We are grateful to you, Jenn, as are all of those whose lives you are changing and, with your Public Safety efforts, no doubt saving also as law enforcement around the country is becoming educated and trained."

UCR Director speaks to International Crisis Intervention Training Conference

Nearly 2000 CIT professionals, mental health workers, law enforcement workers, first responders and school resource officers from around the globe attended the International CIT Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, August 28-31.

Jenn Lynn traveled with a group of professionals from Montgomery County to present on a variety of topics ranging from mobile crisis response, officer self care, body language for de-escalation to cutting edge mental health crisis response through critical community collaborations.

Jenn and MCPD Officer Laurie Reyes instructed a class on strategies to have successful interactions with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, living with I/DD, Alzheimer's Dementia and other co-occurring invisible disabilities.

Montgomery County is very much on the cutting edge of mental health crisis response nationwide and UCR is proud to be connected to this important and life saving work.
