In order to provide participants with individualized hands-on support from the UCR team and instructors space is limited. Due to the high demand for the WORKS programs, participants may only attend one WORKS program at a time. |

Session begins Sept 5, 2024
$250 6 classes UCR WORKS: Food handling at That Smoothie Place Enjoy learning the ins and outs of restaurant work and healthy living! You'll be handling fresh fruits and veggies, preparing and cleaning food, maintaining the kitchen, cleaning the dining area and much more! That Smoothie Place 9815 Main St #106, Damascus, MD 20872 All skill levels accepted, no personal hygiene care provided. Minimal behaviors will require caregivers/staff.

Our WORKS staff is prepared to build work skills in all our WORKS classes, related to, but not limited to:
Dining area maintenance: -Wipe tables and chairs ( table games also need to be removed and replaced on the tables), -Vacuum rugs Wash items Interns wash dishes so there is a strong chance they will be sprayed with water They also pick up items that have been soaking in very warm water. -Wash smoothie blenders and lids -Wash plastic food lids and bowls Re-stock items: Straws plastic lids and bowls small bags of potato chips plastic utensils (need to be stacked in the utensil holder. There is a slot for each utensil) -Put stickers on smoothie bowls Prep table set-up -Take plastic lids off of the toppings -Put serving spoons in topping containers -Re-fill ice -Re-fill various toppings (granola, peanut butter sauce etc.) -Wash and soak lettuce and fruit -Weigh and package frozen chicken -Weigh smoothie bowl fillings |
