creating beautiful life lessons

The first time I met Erin, she was quiet, shy and nervous around new people.  We shared a meal at Panera while getting to know each other and she always kept mom within her reach.  

We discussed the good times and the hard times of living with special needs and how we could cultivate Erin's trust and confidence.  

Fast forward through one semester of UCR membership and Erin is reaping the rewards of hard work. She works at the sign-in table of UCR events, sets and cleans up events.  In return, she is able to attend our therapeutic art program Finding the Artist Within where she talks with new friends and teachers eagerly. 

We are so thrilled to watch Erin blossom through her art and apply new skills to communicate with peers. 

Now, Erin proudly shares her beautiful artwork with community and family members who are thrilled to receive her creative gifts.
